I have hunted and helped Darrel for 9 years and I can say he has everything needed to grow and hold big Whitetails. I have hunted Whitetails for 41 years and have taken several trophy animals. When I started helping Darrel with food plots, stand locations and clients it was obvious that Darrel really cared about his clients and wanted them to have success. When dealing with free ranging whitetails and mother nature some times the hunter is not successful and in my opinion the hunter puts the blame on the outfitter. I have hunted Canada 2x, Iowa, Kansas and wasn't successful on all hunts but the outfitter wasn't to blame Mother Nature was. In the 9 years with Darrel there has only been 2 years that Mother nature wasn't the reason I didn't harvest. The reason I didn't harvest was my choice not the Outfitter. I have harvested 2 Quality Whitetails, 4.5 yr old 8 pt (148) & 6 yr old 10 pt (152) and yes i have seen bigger deer. Some people read the articles how Illinois has monster bucks and they expect them to be around every tree. I have lived in Illinois for 53 years and yes there is monster bucks in this state but it takes in my opinion year and food sources, great habitat and not over pressured deer. Darrel has all 3 and them some. The one thing that I think puts him above the other Outfitters i have hunted with is each client is treated the same no matter who they are. I would be open to discussing hunting with Rocky Branch Outfitters. I will give you straight forward answers to your questions that you may or may not like. If you want a guarantee hunt where mother nature doesn't come in to play then try a high fenced hunt.
