Hunting with this Outfitter was a miserable event. I talked to Steve Brugman before booking this hunt and explained what i expected. He assured me it would not be a issue seeing game or having a shot opportunity. None of which even came close to happening. this was a hunt for me and my dad who just turned 80. my dad in good shape for 80 but not capable of days of mountain climbing. being totally honest to assure a quality hunt and to let the outfitter know where we stood. the Outfitter assured me the terrain if walking was required was not difficult. the ranch he set us up on was a like rock quarry, you could not place your foot down without rocks. we hunted 5 days hard, sitting on water tanks, riding all the terrain, walking out ridges. NO BULL ELK anywhere not a sound, not a sighting, not even any pictures on trail camera's. we did manage to locate 4 cows on the 4th day and i took one of them. desperate times call for desperate results. the ranch was used for cattle and the ranch workers road the entire ranch every two days checking on cattle. the elk were completely pushed off . all the questions and all the references that i contacted prior to booking did not inform me of how sorry this ranch was for elk habitat. to make matters worse, Steve Brugman will not respond to phone calls, text messages, or e-mails. so i result to this,. if you are thinking of booking with SouthWestHunts.com and Steve Brugman, do yourself a favor and find someone else. he will tell you whatever you want to hear to get a booking with you. STAY AWAY. this guy does not care about your success or your experience. we wasted 10,000 dollars here you dont need to do the same.

I am Steve Brugman owner of Brugman Outfitting Service. I will assume that if you are reading this repeort that you have a possible interest in a hunt with us. I did book an elk hunt for Michael Suggs and his father. He was provided accurate information about the ranch as well as our previous success rates and shot opportunity this does not guarantee future results and I did not and never will guarantee anyone success we hunt strictly wild free range animals , all references he spoke with were hunters that previously hunted the ranch as well as some that had done public land hunts i have no knowledge of what they said or discussed with Mr. Suggs . He was not lied to misled or mistreated in any way during his hunt. His guide did all he possibly could under the circumstances. It's a mighty thin plank that only has one side and I don't wish to engage in public slandering but if you are interested in a hunt with us I will be more than happy to discuss Mr. Suggs hunt with you. I had many discussion about the hunt before during and after but due to Mr. Suggs threats I have ceased responding. Mr. Suggs threatened to slander me on the Internet before the hunt was even over and has vowed to continue until he dies I wish him a long and happy life. We take between 50-70 clients a year for Elk , antelope, mule deer , oryx , aoudad and quail most of these are repeat clients or referred by previous clients. We wouldn't have this kind of business if we were dishonest and this is the one and only negative response in 5 going on 6 years of business. Mr. Suggs has found numerous sites to bash me on there are some inconsistencies with his rants but the one consistent part was that he was miserable and to that part I agree. If you are interested in a hunt with us I can provide you many many references both successful and unsuccessful that like what we do if you would like to speak to a hunter that hates me speak to Mr. Suggs. the weather was warm for this time of the year, we had a couple days of scattered rain, that did not stop us from hunting.
