I do not recommend this outfitter

This was the poorest experience that I have had with an outfitter.

1. Meals - The meals were nothing special. It seemed liked the cook was just using whatever they had around. The cook even made the comment that the outfitter didn't restock the food supplies prior to our groups arrival.

2. Accommodations - Accommodations were not as advertised. The hunters were supposed to have cabins with wood walls and canvas roofs. The original camp site was not available for some reason. So, we stayed at one of the guide's cabin areas. This place did not have adequate space to house all hunters comfortably. My specific place to stay was a wood floor cabin with a "tarp" material covering. Between that and the oversized hole in the wall to let the chimney out. The tent did not stay warm at night. In fact, to stay warm the hunters had to split their own wood for the stoves.

Also, the place where we had our cabins was trashy. Items from old boat motors to just plan trash was scattered about. I would be ashamed if my place looked like that.

3. Guide servie - Majority of the time the hunters would have to stand around waiting for the guide to take us to our stands. I don't think we ever left on time. Additionally, there were several occasions where hunters got picked up early with plenty of shooting light left.

4. General Professionalism - This camp did not have any. The guides, cook, assistants all complained about each other in front of the hunters. Also, good luck getting the outfitter to return your call after he has taken your money. Half the time the answering machine is full and you can't even leave a message.

5. Animals - Out of eight hunters at camp only one got a bear the week we were there. Discussions with the guides indicated not all bait sites were actively being baited or just newly baited and no game cameras were being used to monitor bear activity.

6. Aftermath of hunt - There were four hunters, myself included, did not even get an opportunity to see a bear. Since that happened the guide said we could come back in the spring and try again. To follow up with the outfitter to confirm spring hunt details I have sent an email and have left phone messages the last two months. They have yet to return my phone call.

Was the outfitter notified of problems? - NO
