I recommend this outfitter

This was an excellent hunt in spite of the fact that I didn't take an animal. I had booked for the rut period that has historically been best. But the weather was unseasonably warm, and all the moose laid up during the day, NOT the outfitters fault. It will be a mixed camp, I was the only bowhunter, but that's not a factor. You'll hear a gunshot in the distance on occasion, but you'll have no problems running into people. In nine days of humping the boonies up there I saw not one other person.

It was one of the most physical hunts I have ever been on. I walked an easy 60-70 miles during my 9 days of hunting. But there were other guys in camp, one was 84, who couldn't walk like that so they adjusted the hunt for him. The first 8 days I saw the south end of a north bound moose twice. The final day, which was given to me by the outfitter Dave Evans as a bonus because of the slow hunting I saw 4 moose. I got a shot at two of them, hitting a twig on the first one and misjudging the distance on the second. So it's not his fault that I didn't get my moose.

There was fresh moose sign all over the place. There is a TON of moose up here and you won't find an outfitter who will do more to insure that you have a quality hunt. The camp is almost luxurious, I could take a hot shower every night and I had my own cabin. Food was good and plentiful.

The moose in Newfoundland are not the size you will find in BC or the Yukon, but then the hunt is not $20k either. You will absolutely get your moneys worth. I would highly, highly recommend this outfitter.

PS. Aside from the moose there was some of the biggest bear tracks that I have ever seen.
