Myself and my husband Buddy (who is 83 and on oxygen) were treated with the utmost care and respect by Mark Clifford and his staff. They went to a special extent to find suitable hunting locations for Buddy considering that he could not walk very far and had special needs with his oxygen. A couple of times Mark set up popup blinds to get Buddy in a good place to be successful. Buddy unfortunately insisted on talking loudly, passing gas loudly, spitting out of the blinds and opening up the door of the blind just as the "golden" hour was approaching and the deer were beginning to move and urinating proudly out of the door. This led to several domestics between husband and wife which only succeeded in making the beautiful, big trophy bucks come out 300 yards away. However much fun was had by both of us not least the rest of the camp laughing at Buddy's antics which he apparantly has done all his life as a deer hunter. Buddy has been tremendously successful all his life (despite smoking in the tree stand etc) and has a living room full of trophy deer mounts that scares the wits out of any unsuspecting non hunting visitor. Myself (Linda), I was successful within two hours of first light with a majestic eight point deer strutting his stuff around my treestand only to give me a 20 yard shot broadside. How could I turn that down? Where I come from we never see deer of that stature and quality. The accomodations at the lodge were straight out of a Cabelas home cabin catalog-lovely. The place was clean ,warm and we had everything we needed. Rachel even prepared special food for Buddy as Buddy cannot abide lasagne and pasta. The overall mood of the camp was warm and welcoming and myself and Rachel survived the testosterone fueled hunting man milieu with grace and good humor. I would definitely recommend this outfitter and hope tp return should Buddy's health allow. Linda Fretwell and Buddy
It was a pleasure guiding you and buddy Linda, thank you for you candid discription of Buddy's hunt,only a lady from England could say it like you did. I am sure those who have read it got a kick out of it. I think if Buddy would have been somewhat less noisey he would have taged out as well.
