This was our first ever guided/self-guided deer hunt and we chose to hunt with Hadley creek outfitters in Pike county IL on a self-guided 7 day hunt. Prior to the first day of our hunt we met with Stacey and a couple other guides who then took us out to the property and showed us numerous locations and stand sites on the 250+ acre property that was ours to hunt for 7 full days. During the hunt we saw numerous deer and numerous "shooter" bucks and it seeemed as if the deer didn't even care we were there; that told me the hunting pressure was very minimal (a key factor). For the first few days the weather was really warm but when it turned cold the bucks really started moving; we were seeing 10-15 nice bucks a day. I saw more rutting activity in those few days than i have in the past 10 years combined here in IN. On the final morning i connected on a 177 gross booner. My father who joined me on the trip passed on numerous shot opportunities, included a 155+ ten (which i saw and would have shot given the opportunity; he wishes he had it back). Overall, recommended??? ABSOLUTELY!!!
