Hunter Comments

I had the opportunity to hunt at Dos Plumas ranch over the memorial day weekend, this was my first hog hunt but it will not be my last!!! My self and my Fiance went for a two day hunt at Dos Plumas and had a good time. I really wish we would have seen more hogs but we went at a bad time, I watched the grass grow about 3 inches in two days due to the heat and the rain, so the hogs did not need to hit the feeders as hard. Next time I go to Dos Plumas, and I will, I'm going to go winter into early spring to cure this problem. Truthfully if I would have shot better I could have shot more hogs. As it was I shot a nice 225 pound boar for my first hog. As for the accomodations, I don't think it could have got much better. The one recommendation I would make is to spend the extra money and let Lori do the cooking! I had the opportunity to try a couple deserts and they had to pull me away just to go hunt. Alan and Lori are both GREAT people and they truly care about there hunters and hope do everything they can to make sure you have a good time. We really enjoyed having Mike and Jessica in camp. They were very excited to be here for Jessica's first hog hunt. Jessica stuck her very 1'st hog on her 1'st evening in stand. Mike however donated to the arrow Gods and we're not sure if it has landed yet....lol. We look forward to having them both back here at Dos Plumas.
