Hunt was exceptional. My objective was to have a good time with some friends and hopefully, harvest a species that I have never hunted before with a bow. As a new bow hunter, this was my first Archery harvest and is one that I am very proud of. I launched the arrow from Ground Blind 7. It is an easy Blind to hunt from, appx 25 yds to the feeder with plenty of spot and stock beyond it. I hit him near the heart, quartering away, tracked a solid trail 150 yds till he was spotted slowing leaving this earth. I had seen very nice boars everytime I sat at that location although the others that I frequented were well represented by the feral population as well. After spending 3 days there, if you do not get a hog, it is due to inexperience or you were seeking a hog with specific traits that did not present itself. THERE ARE ALOT OF HOGS HERE!!!
Now the ranch... Matt and Cheryl are class act people and run an honest operation. We stayed in the guest house and was spotless. We filled the fridge in Ada but Cheryl has a menu of pre-paid game meals that are avalable at a reasonable price that I am sure would be delicious. Hunters spend good money to hunt private ranches and Matt and Cheryl understand this. They appreciate your business and will not let you leave unless you are satisfied with the opportunities you were given. Thank you very much Matt and Cheryl for my first succesful Bow hunt, My first Boar, and most importantly, your hospitality. I'll see you next year...
