Food Plot 7 - Real World Soybeans - Northern Blend

Utilization based on game camera survey on this crop choice + evidence of use

Growth Results

For the last few years I have been planting Real World soybeans with excellent results. This was always planted on my best ground in Food Plot 1. This year I decided to plant two acres on my most remote plot. This was risky, the ground is only 3 years old and not as well-drained as Plot 1. I also debated whether to fence, and decided not to. I sprayed Glyphosate only once to control the weeds. The plot came up fantastic, despite more grazing pressure than usual, and by October first I had tons of beans. This despite being planted on sub-par lands.

Activity Results

Activity was amazing and it lasted from September first through the last week of December when the snows piled up. On one occassion the deer would not leave the plot while I was checking cameras. They would simply run into the woods then come right back.

Comments

Soybeans have proven to be the best crop choice for deer in my area. It grows great, does not attract bears, yet attracts deer in droves. I keep thinking I should try a different variety but I've had such good success with Real World beans that I keep going back.
