Sunday Morning Hunt
I hunted the Calvary Creek stand for the morning hunt. I was hoping for the best but expected it to be slow. It was dreadfully slow. I saw one doe and one very small spike buck. The weather has been very warm since last night and it's going to stay that way until tomorrow.
Sunday Afternoon Hunt
By the afternoon the weather had cooled some. The skies had clouded over and there was a pretty good breeze. It didn't help much, the deer movement was still very slow. I saw a spike buck, a small 5 point and four does. I also had another coyote come in to the bait. He blew out the deer and tested my resolve. I wanted to hammer him but I restrained myself. In hindsight, I should have slaughtered him. It was very slow for everyone today.
The weather should be changing for the better. It's amazing how a warm front shuts everything down this time of year.
