Whitetails Unlimited Joins Forces with The National Deer Alliance
Newark, NY- The National Deer Alliance is pleased to announce that they will be joined by Whitetails Unlimited in their effort to protect North America’s wild deer, wildlife habitat and the future of hunting. With over 32 years of experience in wildlife conservation, Whitetails Unlimited will be a valuable partner and assist the NDA in its mission to achieve positive outcomes for deer and deer hunting.
“The NDA couldn’t be more pleased to receive the support of Whitetails Unlimited, which has 90,000 members,” stated Craig Dougherty, Executive Director of the NDA. “This is a great stride in the process of achieving the goals of both the NDA and Whitetails Unlimited. The NDA now has the support of the three largest deer organizations in the country (The Mule Deer Foundation, QDMA, and Whitetails Unlimited).This will enhance our ability to ensure the future of deer and deer hunting dramatically.”
Founded in 1982, Whitetails Unlimited is a national non-profit conservation organization that has remained true to its mission and has made great strides in the field of conservation. They have gained the reputation of one of the nation's premier organizations dedicating its resources to the betterment of the white-tailed deer and the future of deer hunting.
“Our support of the NDA is in direct response to the need for action against the threats which face our nation’s deer population today”, stated WTU President Jeff Schinkten.
“Traditionally, WTU has supported our grassroots chapters in their conservation efforts, but has not been active in advocating specific policy positions because WTU does not have the resources available to properly evaluate the countless proposals and issues that arise throughout the country. We have always encouraged our members to become educated and active in their local areas. Teaming with the NDA is a great opportunity to bring to the forefront those issues important to deer hunters across the nation,” said Schinkten.
As a national organization with a very diverse membership, Schinkten said it is important for Whitetails Unlimited to stay true to its core mission, but by affiliating with the NDA we can provide more information to deer hunters, and get them more active in advancing the sport of regulated deer hunting.
