So my test kit asks what I am planting, Gives you 4 categories of choices. I am planting an (annual) Brassica, Turnip, Radish and Ethiopian Cabbage blend. What category would I pick? I know I could list my seed but maybe not...
1 Winter food plots-Grain, Corn, Sorghum
2 Green Forage (Annual) Spring Oats, Cow Peas, Soybeans
3 Hunting season -Grain Wheat, Rye
4 Green Browse (Perennial) Alfalfa, Clover

If you can build your soil nutrients up to grow reasonable alfalfa ... you can grow any foodplot forage very well.

Sag, I was thinking #2 because annual and forage, peas/beans are legumes I think.... Maybe not the same as bulbs but need nitrogen like I would think my mix would need. I have an email in to the folks I bought it from to see what they think. So far no reply.
Thanks, Bill

Think ahead, What might you plant next year at that location? Put down P, K, and Lime as if planting alfalfa/clover. Plant your brassicas and apply N in two batches, half at planting, half mid growing season when the N is really needed.

Legumes need nitrogen, but they capture their own.
