This was my second time hunting with Mike. On this trip I brought my dad who has never hunted outside the local area in our home state of PA. Mike notified me in advace that he had experienced a recent hospitalization but that we will be taken care of. Which was true everything in camp ran smoothly as before. With the only person who really suffered this week was Mike who wanted to be involved with everything such as tracking but was unable. I only hunted the first 2 days the first day I saw what would have been a beautiful 10 point chasing a doe and was definitely a shooter sadly his right antler was snapped off above the brow tine. The second evening during a white out I put a arrow in a nice mature heavy 10 point. I saw multiple deer in all 4 stands I hunted. My dad had a absolute blast and wants to return he saw lots of deer and multiple smaller bucks sadly a mature deer eluded him. I feel that the drastic weather and full moon which are entirely out of mikes control greatly impacted the hunt. That being said a buck was shot the 1st day but not recovered. I shot my buck the second evening and another guy in camp took a nice 8 point on thursday. The food was of course fantastic as always. Nick was generous enough to show me how to use his recurve bow which was just cool. I will be returning to hunt again in very near future.
