My experience with WHO was a horrible experience. A scam in all aspects of what was promoted from WHO and expected. Very deceitful. I purchased this trip 9 months prior for my son's 17th birthday. We arrived 11/14 with his birthday on 11/15. I am a doctor in a busy solo practice, but took off a complete week to spend with my son. We went hog hunting the first 3 days in TN . The hog hunting outfitter (Wilderness Lodge in Monterey TN) and experience was outstanding and beyond expectations. We then had the 3 day Whitetail hunt booked with WHO for the last 3 days. They sent us a "canned" text 2 days prior to check-in, stating they would be in touch with us directing us to our assigned camps within 24hrs. This was going to be based on camera pics of the deer and where the best opportunity would be. I received the same text word for word 10 hrs later. This statement was total BS. (The field mgr confirmed they occasionally check pics and most of the SD cards were old and broken, when we got there.) My son and I was "assigned " to the WEST camp the day before arrival. Upon pulling into the parking lot was a feeling of shock and nauseous disappointment. This camp is a dive/dump, dilapidated old elementary school that looks like something from a horror movie. No picture of this place on WHO website anywhere...just their 3 other gorgeous 5 star lodges, and 5 star gourmet food they promote. We had 0 star lodging and 1/2 star food experience. We were not greeted upon arrival, no welcome pack, got shown to our 'bunks" , which was an old dingy classroom with 8 full beds side by side military style... waited 2 1/2 hrs for someone to come talk to us, no one did. I walked the empty halls looking for an employee, finally finding the cook. He directed me to the field mgr who said " what do you need?". Spoke with several other hunters after they returned that night, ALL disappointed in the few deer they saw. They also had the same expectations of the nice lodges ,etc. They were utterly shocked and disappointed at this place, as we were. The hunting was a JOKE. Let me also state that, the claims that WHO accolades about their renowned deer management and hunt strategy, was pouring out a bag of corn 1 or 2 days before that area was hunted. Honest truth! My son and I saw 1 doe during the first day of 14 hrs of hunting. We got back to camp and packed up and left,( as 4 other hunters from previous day had), driving 9 hrs through the night to get home just so we didn't have to spend another night in that dump. What a birthday experience my son had! .........Thanks, Whitetail Heaven Outfitters....you should be so proud. WHO is only in it for the money! Herding hunters in and out. Promoting the "on sale" or "flash sale" hunting packages (55% off). But what WHO will NOT tell you...is that if you purchasing one of these discounted packages....you will most likely be assigned to the WEST camp ( I spoke to all the hunters there and ALL had purchasing the "sale" hunting packages.) This also confirms the "canned" text you will receive telling you about the camera pics! Not true and very deceitful. A scam in all sense. Lesson learned! My advice...HUNTERS BEWARE...MY EXPERIENCE WITH WHO WAS A SCAM. I also witnessed the same being done to the 9 other hunters there at my time.
