What can I say about this hunt, it was tops all the way around. I will say that the first 8 days were tough until the weather change. We had 85 degree days for the majority of the hunt and even after the weather change the mature bulls were hard to find and tough to call. The last two days all hell broke lose and it was incredible to witness. Steven Ward was my guide and he was everything you want in a guide, he was a machine, fun to hunt with, ethical and worked his butt off to get me a bull. He also ran the video camera for me and did a phenomenal job. I would highly recommend him for your Arizona elk tag. If you want to hunt with him, you need to draw 5B South. I shot my bull on the last day. I had passed up several bulls bigger than him but time ran out and I decided to shoot this bull on the last day. If I had two more days I could have killed a giant as they were just getting fired up when I had to leave. No regrets, the hunt was fantastic, food and lodging was fantastic, and all the guides were fun and hard working. Can't recommend Ward's outfitters enough.

Unfortunately, I had 85+ degree days for 9 out of our 10 days of hunting. This supressed the rut and the giants didn't show up until the very last two days. Wish we could have experienced 30-50 degree weather. But nobody can control that. Given the heat, we saw bulls every day and heard bugles every day.
