Premier Outfitters goes out of their way to make you feel at home. This was the first Hunting trip that I had ever paid for and didnt know what to expect. Overall I would say I was happy and would recommend them to anyone who asked. I went with a group of 4 (family members) and 2 of us were successful, and this was considering we had some tough weather. It was warm, and rained very hard 2 days of the four. My guide Clint, did all he could despite the conditions to try to get us on deer. I saw quite a few deer, unfortunately no monster bucks, however I know they were there, just didn't need to move. Unfortunately my father only saw does, and I would have liked for him to have gotten a buck instead of me. Having said that I would like to apologize for not taking a 140 class buck. Running through the woods he looked like a nice 8, and the left side looked good. He gave me a good shot, but after walking over to him I suddenly realized that G2 and G3 on the right were broken off. Talk about depressing. That leads me to believe something really big must have been fighting with it. My only suggestion to the management is stand placement for rifle hunting. really good sets for bow, but not enough sight distance for rifle. If I would have had a longer opportunity to watch that buck (however he was hot on a doe), I may have seen those broke tines. I think some longer trimmed shooting lanes would help. On another note, Eric, who was in charge of our lodge, was awesome, and always wanted to kow what could be improved or how he could help. The guides were great, and the food and people in camp were fantastic. Steve, the cook, was awesome. We will not be coming back, simply because having a young family limits me financially, however I will be back sometime to try again. I know hunting is hunting, no guarantees, so we feel fortunate to come home with 2/4. Thanks, will recommend.
Adam, thank you for the kind words and thank you for hunting with us. We will definitely look into what we can do to improve the shooting lanes for our gun hunters. Please don't apologize for the buck you harvested, He was a mature buck that was broke off from fighting. It was a tough week with the crazy weather and we feel fortunate to have got some nice ones on the ground. We wish everyone could see monster bucks. Hopefully on the next trip dad will get a good one.
