From the moment we arrived on site we were greeted by one of the original guides named Jimmy he was very polite and made you feel welcome from the start. shortly after the owner Mark came outside and greeted us as well. Mark took us inside the camp and showed us our room. The camp was second to none. two full baths, full kitchen Three bedrooms. This place is AMAZING!!. Mark sat down with us and talked for almost 30min. Our group of Three commented to each other on how Mark made us feel like we weren't a guest but more like friends/family. later on the other guides came into camp. they had been out scouting and glassing. that's when we met Hal and Chris. Again these guys greeted us as if they had known us for years. we were blown away on how friendly this group of people were. we were told that North American Whitetail TV host ( Pat Hogan ) and his cameraman ( Nolan ) would be in camp with us. What an added Treat! we sat on the patio overlooking a soy bean field and seen a decent 8Ptr and a doe. The food that Rachel prepared for us was phenomenal! ( Rachel the pork tenderloin is to die for! just saying!) The Night before our hunt our guide Hal Got with us and made sure that we had everything we needed to be comfortable and made sure that if we had any special needs that they where addressed. our group had made plans to sit in the stands all day. Which I would highly recommend. A sack lunch was prepared for us along with some snacks that are provided at the lodge. we left camp at 5:15am this gave us enough time to get in the stand and get set up before first light. From first light until 9:00am I had deer from 5 yards to 500 yards. I saw 50 deer with 15 of them being bucks I had one 8ptr that was a guaranteed shooter that ran out and straight away from me. But by the end of the day he was right back in the field again chasing a doe. Although I did not get a shot off at this trophy deer the OPPURTUNITY was there. These deer are free range deer and can show up in the blink of an eye. one member of our group text me stated that he hadn't seen but one deer to my fifty and stated that he must be in a desert. That soon changed for him seeing the biggest Buck deer he had ever put his eyes on. in fact he saw four massive bucks killing the best deer of his life which was a beautiful 12ptr. His son hunted with us and he seen two great shooters one being a Big 8 and another one being what he thinks was at least a heavy 10Ptr. This place is the place of opportunity for certain. Others in camp saw some great bucks as well. But the best thing of our whole trip was not the trophy deer that was taken, that was a bonus. The #1 highlight was making New Friends. Mark Thank you for everything you and your staff did for us. I cant tell you how much I appreciate the extra mile you go to ensure that your guests feel at home.
