We had some bad weater Rain/snow the first 2 days and an extremely long winter led to lower bear activity then normal for this time of year. Even with those circumstances 5 out of 6 hunters had oppurtunities on bears. The guides worked hard trying to get us on bears. Randy my guide suggested going out about 3 hours earlier in the day and that made the difference for me. As Randy took me to my stand at about 12:30 I heard a bear run off the bait. Randy was giving me details on where to expect bears from and getting me situated in the blind when I look down at the bait and a very nice boar was coming to the bait( probably what ran off when we were waling in). Randy had no choice but to sit down with me as we watched the bear for 40 min. I drew on this bear 5 times before finally getting a standing quatering away shot. The bear only went 35 yards and we heard the death moan. Rnady went back to put one more hunter in to his bait and came back about 1 hr later and we recovered my bear. Randy was just as excited as I was when we got to the bear! Randy/Tom really care that the hunters are successful. All ratings on a normal year would have been excellent but due to few bears I put very good( no fault of outfitter the bears were just a little behind schedule) Next week the hunters are going to be covered in bears. The group from Texas and my buddy and I are already planning a 2016 hunt all together again
None to date. If you are the outfitter please email us.
Rain and snow with very cold temps hampered the first 3 days of the hunt along with a 1 in 116 year winter that put the bears back a few weeks
