Ron put us on the bears the first night again. Even with a tough spring this year, Ron was able to put us on hot stands the first night. Jeanine's cooking is second to none and I always enjoy the moose brats!. Ron also took us walleye fishing and we had a blast. I hunted with a rifle this year as I had injured my wrist earlier in the year. My buddy Woo also took a nice bear the first night after it checked him out in his stand. Ron runs a top notch operation and the cabins and food are great. This was second year in a row I hunted with Ron. Ron is also a taxidermist and my rug from last yr looks great. Looking forward to my rug from this year. This bear was so smart it took about 40 minutes to come in, and was very cautious, all the while I had a young bear in the tree next to me for over 3 1/2 hrs. I swear this bear that I got could see my lips move :) but I eventually was able to get it to come in.
It's not very often I get to take the guys out fishing with my schedule while hunting, but spending a couple hours with Phil and Richard was the highlight of my week, oh, plus burying the atv in the bog with Phil's bear tied on, was fun too.
