Well it is my first time I attended a outfitter hunt in the USA and really did not know what to expext other than I can say that Mike and his wife are wonderfull people. For the hunt I though things would be somewhat diffrent with big bucks walking all arround but that was not to be. I did see a number of animals each day but none were anywhere near to the 120 inch range. It was clear to me that tree stands had been in place for a long time as does and young bucks would look at me knowing that I was up the tree and there was no real danger to them.
Was the outfitter notified of problems? - NO
Des, You are one of the finest gentleman I have ever had the pleasure to meet. And I can tell you from the moment I found out you were going to be coming here to hunt from south Africa I wanted to ensure you had a Quality Hunt! I am sorry that the deer did not cooperate the week you were here. We are 100% fair chase with no high-fence. The hunters here at the "Wide Rack" during the 3rd hunt of Nov. expeienced the hunt you were wanting to experience. I no not believe I could have done anything diffrent to make your hunt better. Once my hunters arrive and are out on stand it is up to Them, the Deer, & God! You are right about our deer being wired and able to bust you if you do not do everything perfect. But as I remember you got away with not being busted more than being busted. I hope you keep in touch. I enjoy your pictures from Africa. "Sharpe-Edge" my Friend, GBTA!
