I booked my hunt with Mark at the Harrisburg, PA sportsman show with a friend of mine. After talking with many outfitters at the show we were most impressed with Premier Outfitters. Mark and his guides seemed genuine and I could tell from talking with them that they weren't just telling you what you wanted to hear. He was honest in telling you that he was selling you the OPPORTUNITY to harvest a big mature Kentucky buck, not a guarantee. We hunted the week of the 19th-22nd of November, 2010. We were impressed with the cozy, clean accommodations of the lodge and the friendly staff that Mark has when we arrived. Unfortunately mother nature did not give us the best hunting conditions while we were there. It was very warm with high winds and a full moon.. If you are a hunter then you know that the weather can play a big role in your hunt and the outfitter can't be responsible for the weather conditions. That being said I still saw deer each day of the hunt along with everyone else in camp. I had a young 120 class 8 pt walk by within 20 yards of me the first morning on stand and a very nice 130-140 class buck they call white tip run across a clearing on the 2nd morning but did not have time to get off a clean shot before he disappeared into the brush. On the evening of the last day of the hunt with 10 minutes of shooting light left I had a big 140-150 class buck come out into a field I was hunting trailing a doe. To no one's fault but my own I did not bring him home with me. I saw numerous does and young bucks over the course of my 4 days on stand. I just wonder how it would have been had the weather conditions been better. Maybe next time! Thank you Mark and his staff including our guide Eric for an enjoyable hunt and even though I did not harvest a buck, I still considered it a success.
