Conclusion - The Summit SOP Fastback Lite is a popular harness system for many reasons. It is well designed with lots of those little details that hunters want; like quiet rubber coated buckles, ability to wear over or under clothing, ability to manage the excess straps, and ease of use. I debated whether to change the rating on this vest as an "excellent" rather than a "good" - for 'ease of use' since the straps are sowed to the camo backing - however the straps can still be tangled in the dark so ultimately I kept the rating a "good." The SOP design has not changed dramatically since we did our first test so I was expecting an effectively controlled fall and a comfortable hang after the fall. I also prefer the quiet and easy to use rope and prusik knot for attachment to the tree rather than the strap and buckle system used in many other systems. The downsides are this model has zero pockets or pouches other than a little one that holds the relief strap. I did miss the pouch that use to hang off the butt for the tree rope in former models. I realize that some of you may be skeptical since Summit is a Bowsite.com sponsor but I was using this system long before they sponsored the site. I recommend this system for hunters looking for a quality, lightweight and quiet harness system that can be used both under and over clothing.
