Conclusion - HSS has made some vast improvements to their original design. One of the things HSS is known for is how easy the vest is to put on and if that alone gets hunters to use a vest then I hope they sell a ton of units. It also has a lot of pockets for calls, binoculars, rangefinders, release - etc. Out of the four vests we tested this was the easiest to put on. I was also pleased to see the new rubber coated buckles as that was always a negative for HSS vests in my opinion. The controlled descent was painless and so was the fall test. Hanging in the vest was comfortable and exceeded our expectations. For cold weather I like to wear my harness under my coat, and while I guess you could put a large coat over this vest, it's really not designed for use under clothing. I would recommend this vest to anyone looking for a harness that is simple to use - especially if you want lots of pockets.
