We had a huge winter kill last year in my area and they did nothing to adjust the tag numbers. All they said was it was not as bad as it could have been. poorest season in years.

North Dakota is a very diverse state. Many areas don’t make the best whitetail habitat. However, the areas that do are very well managed and don’t allow OTC rifle tags

My property is managed fairly well so our quality of bucks is good-Game and fish ran our population down so far in other parts of the state that it will take years more to recover.

Numbers are okay, but lacking after a hard winter the prior year. Habitat improvement efforts are lacking. Some nice sized bucks, but a lot of searching necessary.

Deer numbers continue to be down across the state without the CRP numbers the state once had. Rifle tags are down consequently. Bow tags are still over the counter for residents

Buck to doe ratios are good. React swiftly when winters are bad. Numbers are not what they were in late 200X's, but w/o CRP, we won't get back there.

The general model for controlling deer harvest promotes a fairly balanced deer herd despite a gun hunt during the rut. The loss of CRP and other habitat acres to farm acres limits top end potential.

Deer numbers are rebounding in ND after a steep decline. ND G&F has limited the harvest, and over the last four years I have seen more mature bucks throughout the seasons.
