While there are quite a many deer in NC there are very few places for them to be hunted on public land which leads to all these dead deer on the side of the road.

Stricter season/rules on dog hunting might help. I enjoy it when I go, but many ruin it for all. Tag what you kill. NC needs a buck rule or limit rifle season, but allow shotgun same amount of time.

Too long of a gun season. I also gun hunt myself and took a nice 11 point with a rifle but that was the only deer I took the whole season. Deer numbers seemed lower with fewer mature does to harvest.

Coyote population has hurt the deer and turkey in my area. The bucks I’m seeing are bigger and older, I assume they survive better than the smaller ones.
