As everyone else said, the rifle season hits tight in the heat of the rut and two buck tags are available to everyone who wants one. They also refuse to manage mule deer and white tails individua.

My grade is for my hunting spots which are small private parcels. The deer hunting on these spots were MUCH better 12-15 years ago. I know some guys have good hunting here, but my spots are very weak.

This is geared more toward the manag. of public areas. Unlimited doe harvest on many public areas is depleting herd drastically.

Yearly, have 2-5 P & Y bucks to target. B & C not so much. Always fill tags. See well over dozen deer per hunt. Removing rifle season during rut would increase B & C size racks.

NGPC needs to restrict out of state hunters. Also should put in some sort of point system on antlered tags like one side should have 3 or more points.

Since the CWD outbreak the Nebraska Game and Parks has been on mission to reduce deer population. They accomplished this with excessive tags and an assault on habitat. They were successful.

The state's inability to create a plan that controls the deer population while also improving the quality of bucks is frustrating. I'd like to see a full study on potential changes and the impacts.

Saw two nice bucks in the bow season. Saw two fork bucks and couple does during the entire rifle season. Game and parks issues too many tags.

Saw only a spike buck, and a handful of small does this year, with rifle in middle of the rut, there is people shooting anything with antlers causing young deer to miss out on their full potential

Based my ratings on the spot I hunt only. I know there are better areas. The numbers were not there this season, had more photos of coyotes on the trail cams than deer.

Rifle season during the rut hampers the ability of deer to reach their potential. Lots of good deer if you have access to the land that holds them.

It's a 2 buck per hunter state with gun season during the peak of the rut. Growing and hunting big bucks on the average property is tough business. The State commission is not concerned about quality

I did see two good bucks this and connected on one of them. However, overall the number of deer I saw this year and the quality was down to almost immediately post EHD numbers. Rifle during rut=bad.

Rifle season during the rut! Separate hunting zones and seasons to bring down the number of hunters out in the field at one time!

Any state that allows rifle hunting during the rut will never produce world class hunting. The 2 buck limit also relegates Nebraska to a second rate deer state.

I used to live in NE and quality of bucks and quantity or deer is good but as mentioned before; gun season is right in the middle of the rut. All in all; great state to hunt.

Recovering from EHD still but many more mature bucks running around. Still feel that if rifle season was moved out of the middle of the rut we could be as good as Iowa.

Best year I have seen in a very long time. However, Nebraska puts their rifle season at the peak of the rut, which is why my grade for the management system is so low.
