The DNR doesn't manage the deer herd, they try to sell as many tags as absolutely possible. The herd is chased by gun hunters for almost 2 months. The whole license process should be simplified.

Our DNR has little clue as to how many deer there are and where they are. Entire permit areas are broadbrushed as "too many deer" when in fact its pockets of too many. Deal with the problem spots.

Youth zones are located hours away to hunt. Gun season is way too early in November with muzzleloader starting nov 25 to dec 10 and youth cannot participate, it ruins the actual late season. Jacked up

A lot of guys complain about a variety of reasons they don't shoot big buck (or anything else) but those of us that put the work in reap the results. In general, "hunters" are a lazier breed now.

Private land that is at all managed is very good. We had a super year in NW MN. Public land hunting is difficult, too many hunters will shoot anything brown. Party hunting needs to go.

Numbers have rebounded, albeit not near carrying capacity. Age structure is extremely poor. 90% yearling bucks the past 2 two years via trail cam survey. Managed for hunter opportunity, not quality.

Need to eliminate the early gun season. Point restrictions are great but with the CWD areas where everything goes with virtually unlimited tags it will be a very slow recovery. I saw WAY less deer.

In the four days I hunted I saw two does. The area I hunt, the deer population has still not recovered from severe winters. The DNR advocates forestry practices that limit deer habitat.

My land is located in heart of farm country and it's a brown it's down mentality. Deer numbers are intentionally kept low. The only good thing the state had going in the SE has been ruined by CWD
