Barely any bucks in the area i hunt in western mass every buck gets shot because you can only kill does through lottery. Nobody lets bucks mature

Saw only two deer from stand in 8/9 zone border all season. Management strategy seems to have more avoiding vehicle collisions in mind than hunter's goals.

DCR doesn't know what they're doing. Too many doe tags. Too many towns where public land hunting is illegal (Z10 and East). DCR ignores their own biologists.

Not the best state for quality deer hunting, particularly due to low deer population. I spend more time hunting out of state than at home in MA because of the low numbers. Very few sightings.

Zone 11 continues to hold an abundance of deer. Hunter density increasing where I hunt resulting in more nocternal activity even during the rut. Setbacks could definitly be relaxed during archery

Deer management units are too large to effectively use antlerless tags as the only management tool. Too much habitat and development variation within any given unit. Shorten the season in the west.

Though I shot 2 bucks on the Z9/10 border, I hunted 4 towns in W Z9, and saw 0 deer all season hunting many days. Zones too large to manage and the state has many priorities other than herd management

The quality of the bucks we have is great the management we have in western MA sucks. Go back to mandatory check stations, go to zone specific doe permit check stations i.e. shot in 4S checked in 4S.

There are a fair number of deer in zone 11, hunting pressure really takes a toll on the quality of the hunt. The state doesn't have a mgmt program, zones are far too large to manage quality.

500 ft setback removes many otherwise huntable areas. Two bucks per hunter may be fine in eastern Mass, should be limited to one in Western zones. Coyote hunting should be year round.

There are tons of deer in mass. If you're looking for the trophy buck they are few and far between. Looking to fill the freezer? Get access to private land in zone 10 or 11 and that won't be an issue.

MA has some big healthy bucks. Quantity sucks in the western end unless you have a lot of days off to hunt. Management is not that great as our habitat sucks and I think they should go To 1 buck limit

MA needs to get its act together. Licenses need to be altered based on zones, Sunday hunting should be allowed and set backs changed for bow hunting.
