My buddy and I arrived to camp on 10/14. We hunted 10/15-10/19.
This is a semi guided hunt, we were given to farms to hunt based on wind direction and activity on the farms. They have a couple stands set on each farm but you are allowed to bring your own stands and make moves based on deer movement which we loved having the ability to do. We brought our hang and hunt sets (hawk helium sticks and mellinium stand). The camp was nice. You provide your own meals and drive yourself to the property. We prepped our meals before hand and kept them in vacuum sealed packages and cooked when we got back from our hunts.
While neither of us took an animal, we passed on a lot of deer.. There were some nice bucks were harvested while we were there and 1 really nice tom. We saw deer every sit and an abundance of turkeys, which you are allowed to harvest too.
I really liked the ability to do my own thing on the property, i had a real nice opportunity at a great buck one evening but right before he got into my shooting lane 2 coyotes came through the corn field and he took off. We saw some other nice bucks but never had the opportunity to take the shot, thats just part of hunting.
We had a blast and can't wait to go back next year. Paul, Tim, and Ken are great guys and will switch your farms if you feel you need better opportunities or if wind direction isn't favorable for the next hunt. The guys in camp were great and we made some good friends who we hope we can meet up with there next year. We can't wait to get back next year. If you have any questions feel free to pm me and I can answer any questions you have!
Thanks so much for the feedback we appreciate you guys and look forward to next season!
The weather was actually great. We hit a perfect cold front on the first day of the hunt that stayed around for the remainder of our trip
