I booked this hunt not knowing what to expect; I only know what was advertised, and what I was told by the outfitter. It was not what I expected; it was better! Arriving in camp, all of the guides were there waiting to help us unload. We did not lift a thing. The lodge was beautiful, and the food was beyond compare! The owners of Salt River Lodge were some of the nicest people I've ever met. The guides had a meeting showing us what a 130" deer looked like, and told us that when you see a trophy buck, you'll know it! The guide asked what type of stand we preferred, and walked us to that stand in the morning. I always had the wind in my face and the stand placement was chosen by someone who knows what they're doing. I saw plenty of turkeys, and plenty of deer; all of which were healthy, large , and in great shape. I had the safety off on 2 bucks, but just knew a bigger buck would appear after I squeezed. I had one buck run across a corn field that all I could see at first was the rack. I'm not sure how many people were in camp total, but I went out to the building where they skin them and saw many great bucks that were deer of a lifetime for most hunters. I had such a great time overall that I wouldn't just recommend it to someone else, I have booked a hunt for this year, along with 2 friends. This is a trip I plan to make every year from now on. You can hunt big bucks during the rut with a rifle. IMB Outfitters gets a thumbs up from me!
