This was my second hunt with Travis Reggear. My first trip was Jan 2016 and was hit with terrible weather. Pouring rain all 6 days. The snow that we had got less and less each day. That didn't dampen Travis' spirits. We went out every day from dark til dark. With the weather being so bad , Travis had a few guides come in and check other areas during my week. We saw plenty of tracks but couldn't get on one long enough for the dogs to follow for an extended period. On the last day we did cut a fresh bobcat track and was able to get the dogs on it . Pretty cool shooting a bobcat with my recurve.

Travis was upset that we didn't get a cat. He is so accustomed to his hunters being successful. He invited me back 11 months later for another try. First morning , first hour we have fresh snow and the dogs get on a track. Watching well trained dogs in action is an incredible sight ( and sound). We followed those dogs for at least 3 miles. I kept thinking there is no way they are still on this track as it was snowing pretty hard. When we finally got to the tree , there was a beautiful cat about 60 feet up on a super steep hillside. Travis said it was an average Tom for the area. Probably about 130# or so. I looked him over and after 10 minutes I told Travis I was going to pass on it. He said " ok, lets find a bigger one".

We hunted hard that week. Passed on a lot of tracks Travis said wouldn't be big enough. On the 4th day we found my cat. After a LONG 5 mile chase , we caught up to him.

This is a great , family run outfit. You eat dinner with the family and Travis' mom is a great cook and a wonderful person to sit down and talk with over coffee.
