I do not recommend this outfitter

This is the second year of Cast and Blast operation...had I known that I would have likely gone elsewhere. But I didn't do my research and this was my first experience with an out of state semi guided hunt. Let me begin with, I think this place has potential, but I think they've they got a few years before they can meet their claims. I signed up for a "rut" hunt. And needless to say, we may have missed it and not by much if we did. I understand that's not Cast and Blast fault. We still saw small bucks do a little chasing but that was it. I saw 1, yes thats right, 1 doe for the first three days of the hunt. And the same two small 60" class bucks. Day 3 I saw a nice 8 pointer, but not even close enough for a shot. Trust me I wouldnt have shot, because the only rule they EVER talked about was the $1000 fine. Not safety, not having fun nothing. Finally I saw a few more does on day four, but they were skiddish and over pressured and came in snorting and looking immediatly for the stand. (other hunters had the same problem) The issue is the deer have been over hunted and they arent used to the pressure. My advice would be just because you can house 6-8 hunters in the lodge doesnt mean you can or should have that many in the field. Not yet at least. Advice would be to cut the number of hunters in half next year and double the amount of stands. On the subject of stands, they claimed to only use the best. That was a lie. Two stands I were put in were trash, rusted through, missing parts like cotter pins so when I climbed the ladder stand it clanked louder than an ACDC concert. Stands arent super expensive. Get some more. and try to conceal them a bit too. Also, dont let your hunting customers hunt stands if the wind is wrong, our guides were like "whatever hunt that stand." I would say "the wind is wrong." they would say "good point hunt somewhere else." Next point, I was NEVER told or SHOWED what bucks were "management" bucks. Bucks that didnt meet the score that could be shot. I would have gladly taken one to fill my freezer, but I never saw one, at least I dont think I did... thats frustrating. They also have this country singer that comes in to play for you one night, thats pretty fun, drink some beer and listen to live music. What frustrated me was they let the guy and his son hunt a secluded part of the property instead of paying him. Thats cool I guess, but after their hunt, the son comes in bragging about the two big 160" class bucks they saw. blah blah, running his mouth. Cast and Blast, yall got paying customers who didnt see jack and let this happen? I know you cant control the deer but that was crap to listen to. We had one of four hunters see a shooter the whole time, even then it was only a 140" inch deer. So to claim you have a 60-70% chance of a shot at a 135" in deer is crap. That and the fact you have only had one buck shot that was over 135" this whole season also attests to that. The math dont add up.

I had fun, but this was first time. The other hunters were much more upset, two of us even left early to go home...

Ya'll got some work to do, but you have a great potential.
