I recommend this outfitter

I had a great time and it was a great experience. I saw elk every day and if we were rifle hunting I would have probably had an easy shot every day. This was my first time bow hunting for elk and it is tough work and very challenging. There are a lot of elk on the Rockin R properties and the guides can get you to them, but to get to the elk involves hiking and stalking through rough, steep terrain at high altitude. It was very challenging but if you can put in the effort you should get opportunities. My guide, Rob, put me in position multiple times close to Bulls, but some bad luck (Poor shot angles, wind, etc.) and more importantly my lack of experience prevented me from harvesting an elk. It was a phenomenal trip without a kill though. Having multiple bull elk bugling and raking aspens inside of 50 yards is incredible experience and made the trip successful. I am planning to come back to try again in the future.

Outfitter's Response
Agree

We had some extremely difficult weather to deal with during this hunt. Probably the worst conditions we have ever seen during an archery hunt because of the extreme winds. But, we still managed to find elk and get our hunters some opportunities. Louis (Scott) was great to have in camp and we hope he returns for another hunt. We would love another chance to get him an elk. He was a pleasure to be around.
