Hunter Comments
I recommend this outfitter

This was my second trip to Africa and first with African Arrow Safaris. My safari had seen a big rain about 2 weeks prior to my arrival and the entire place looked like it must in early spring with a blanket of green on the ground and vast majority of trees leafing out. This definitely affected waterhole activity but I was still treated to multiple opportunities on a daily basis and was able to take the three I came for. Personally was not ready for what I saw regarding size in so many of the species. Giant kudu, blue wildebeest, waterbuck, sable, gemsbok, giraffe, eland, nyala, impala, steinbok, zebra, baboon, duiker and bushbuck were seen and very well could have been taken as all made it into the stands I was hunting. Most of you would be shaking your heads if you knew what I passed on(there were two monster kudu and a blue wildebeest that will haunt me - as well as my PH's voice saying, "you should not have passed on that on"). Harry Nels and family has created a mecha for wildlife and it truly felt wild as you went from stand to stand. The main ranch is over 100,000 acres (all continuous) and they hunt a multitude of nearby ranches that must total nearly equal to that. All were equally as rich in wildlife and trophy sized specimens and you never felt like you were missing out as you rejoined around the fire at night. The lodge, staff, and camp logistics were immaculate and Harry has a real eye for detail and making sure all is conducted correctly. The blinds are the standard box blinds with one way glass viewing windows and are comfortable, correctly placed, and allow for solid shooting opportunities on most everything that came in. All shots were 12-30 yards in distance, and I only hunted one of the blinds twice while there, otherwise I saw new country and set-ups on a daily basis. As my time began to run down I began to realize that I had really only seen a fraction of what is available to a hunter at African Arrow Safaris. The hunters in camp with me said they were feeling the same and many were on 2nd/3rd safaris with African Arrow. I actually split two groups while there and almost all that were there were repeat customers. I honestly found myself continually wanting to see what was around the next corner or over the next hill as the place went on forever.

I know one of the questions everyone asks when they call references is whether or not you would go back to the same outfitter. To that I would have to say that I cannot wait to go back, this place was so wild and untamed for what South Africa is these days. You will be solidly impressed with what you are investing in, the age class and trophy size is impeccable, and when you hunt here you will be treated like gold from beginning to end.
