Had a fantastic 7-day Buffalo Safari with Bertus Gerhardt of Dumukwa Safaris, Limpopo Province, RSA. Have known Bertus for many years -- actually, did my first African Bowhunting Safari with him back in 2002. We've hunted together since then but this was the first time I was back in his main camp on the Limpopo River. So, it was very much a homecoming with old friends. Took Cape Buffalo, Roan, Nyala, and Impala -- all with Archery tackle and all SCI Gold Medal qualifiers. On top of the successful hunt, trophy care was exceptional -- they are also fun / easy going folks to spend time with and camp life was an absolute blast.

Having hunted with a number of different safari operators. One thing that continues to really impresses me about this particular Safari Company is their ability to easily adjust to varying client experience/ability, and anticipate/adjust to what the game is going to do under changing conditions. We had several different groups in camp ranging from a couple on their first African Plainsgame trip, a 78 year-old hunting Hippo, Croc, Sable, Zebra, and Giraffe, and me bowhunting Buffalo, Roan, and Nyala. A tall order to say the least – but, by the end of the hunt the camp was full of smiles and “high-fives” as everyone had a ball while filling their dance cards with mostly SCI Gold and RW trophies. The kind of trip that we always hope for, and cherish when they actually happen. Highly recommend Dumukwa Safaris any Dangerous or Plainsgame Safari.
