I've hunted places with larger populations of birds, but the Widerack has more than enough turkeys to guarantee a great time. I hunted gobblers at the Widerack in 2013 for six days without a shot even though we were within bow range multiple times each day. It's obvious that the hunt is a good one by the fact that I rebooked for 2014 and have now also rebooked for 2015. The Widerack tailors their hunts to the ability of each hunter. Last year I hunted a mixture of well placed blinds and from the ground. This year I only hunted three times and it was all from a blind. I had gobblers in easy bow range two out of three days. The Widerack is broken into two main properties. At the home property you can literally walk out the back door and kill a turkey. The property is mostly thick, hardwood creek bottoms with perfectly sized kill plots located on the tops of small ridges, knolls and points. The second property is mostly reclaimed mining property and now has a very open field terrain, much like Kansas. The Whitetail genetics on this property are insane and I've seen multiple 200" sheds with accompanying trail pics that came off this property in the same year. The genetics of the deer on this property would make you think you were located a couple hours north. All of this is bundled with a cool camp house that you can really spread out in. Mike, the owner, is a great guy and does everything he can to work hard for his hunters. Plus, Mike is an expert bow hunter himself with many record book entries across several species. I'm sure we all feel more comfortable trusting the opinion of a bow hunting guide when we know they also bow hunt. All in all I can't say enough about the great time and environment that you have to unwind in while still seriously focusing on a hunt. A+ rating for the Widerack.

The first day was drizzly and I only saw one hen even though I heard multiple gobblers. The second and third days were sunny and I saw multiple gobblers.
