I recommend this outfitter

This was the second hunt I have done with ITB, the first in 2009 and you can see my review here as well. Both hunts were in Pike County but this camp was the Hadley Camp, the oldest camp of ITB.

Camp Mgr, Mark Hivley, did a great job for my 18 yo son and I. We were about 500 yards apart and we sat each sat the same stand 75% of the time. My son sat all day, every day, and I say all day most days. We both saw numerous bucks in the borderline range of 125. My son had one opportunity at a big 10 but never came quite close enough.

I had as many 6 bucks 1 day in the 120-135 range but nothing closer than 60 yards. The morning of Oct 30th at 8:10 am I had an opportunity at the monarch of the farm, a 200+ class buck named Stickers. I had no shooting lane and about a 40yd shot and tried to put my arrow through some branches. I never hit a branch but shot just under this magnificent buck. I nearly had redemption the next day when in a different stand A big 160 class 10 came within 65 yards in a field but then turned away.

Between myself, my son and my friend Al we figure we saw about 25 legitimate bucks in the 125 class and better.

I am planning on returning in 2013... along with my son, my new son-in-law who was with me 2009 and my friend Al who accompanied us this year to try again.

I truly think if you are looking for a great outfitter who's goal is to give you an opportunity at an Illinois Trophy buck then ITB is the place. The lodging is nothing to write home about but the hunting is really good. I wish I could afford to go every year.

Weather Comments:
The weather was actually pretty good. About freezing in the morning and generally about 50 during the day. The last day it was warm in the afternoon about 65 but I still saw the big 10 about 4pm. I think if we did not have a full moon we would have done even better.
