I recommend this outfitter

Did a drop hunt for Caribou / Brown Bear out of Bethel with Papa Bear Adventures (a.k.a Ptarmigan Air). The hunt was in 2004 and the Mulchatna Heard was not reported to be in goode shape. However we saw lots of animals and managed to take some very respectable bulls, and one bear. Steve and Carl from Papa Bear Adventures were first rate all the way. There equipment was perfect, and the bunhouse we stayed at before departing, and upon return to Bethel was very comfortable. We hunted both archery, and rifle, but all animals ended up falling to the smoke sticks. THe wide open terrain made it difficult to get closer than 100 yards. Papa Bear even dropped in on us and did a no charge meat hall, and left a 6 pack of beer. you can't beat that......All and all an excellent hunt, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

I remember Dan and his group very well (Dan, his brother and his Dad), a great bunch of guys. It is always neat to see the father and son combination hunts. They always have a good time. Glad they had a good trip and would be happy to have them back anytime. Sincerely, Steve Powers PaPa Bear Adventures (907) 543-5275
