Hunter Comments
I do not recommend this outfitter

First of all I would like to start out by saying not only did I go on this hunt once but two times. The first time I paid the full cost and the second time was half price but was definitely a major waste of my money. Both years we went the snowmobiles broke down on me and the guides. Also, the first year the truck we were supposed to be driving broke down on us as well. Another issue was that they had a bunch of the trails shut down so there was not much ground to cover. When the guides were notified of this they had already known about it but didn't bother mentioning this to me. The guides I went with were not familiar with the land we were hunting at all and they were talking about how they didn't know the land very well. The guides said there had been no lions killed since the season had started there. There was also another hunter on the hunt with us and he was complaining the whole time about how big of a joke the hunt was. He left a day early becuase of the poor quality of a hunt. He said he would never be back hunting with them. I notified the guy over the hunt about how poor the trip was and how I had invested over 10 thousand dollars for my two trips to kill a mountain lion or at least have two quality trips. He said he would try to figure something out just to keep me from posting reviews and we have given him a lot of time and still have not been notified of anything. I would not recomment this hunt to anyone. It was a waste of a lot of money and everything during the entire hunt was a major joke. The food was good but I could have a lot better food than that for ten thousand dollars.

Was the outfitter notified of problems? - YES

Outfitter's Response
Disagree

I disagree with travis's complaint on his lion hunt with us.First of all he should be honest to the public. Both guides that took him are highly experienced guides and new the area very well. One has spent five years in the same area he hunted.Any time any equipment broke down we replaced it immediately or brought a new machine right away.Travis did not loose one minute of hunting time.He stayed in a million dollar lodge, ate the best food he will have on any hunt he may go on.The forest service road closures have been in place for years and did not affect his hunt whatsoever. The other hunter travis mentioned that left early is hunting with us again in nevada right now. This year was the worst weather for lion hunting we have had in many years. The snow they called for never came to move the game into the low country. Most hunters know fresh snow is very important for successful lion hunting.I talked to travis several times after his hunt and I thought he was going to come back and try again with better snow conditions.I offered him a reduced price to come back but he wanted it for free.He said his wife said he cannot come back.Being in the business now for 33 years you would think you have seen it all.Travis thinks he needs an animal evertime he goes out.He may consider golf or bowling instead of hunting. Thanks Tim Craig

There was snow but not as much as normally. Guy over hunt tried using this as an excuse. I hunted two years in a row though. First year weather was exceptionally well.
