Met Gordon at the sports show in harrisburg. I told my brother at the time, "this guy either knows bear hunting or is blowing smoke up our butts". Unfortunatly smoke was what we got. Really bad food, tree stands set up for gun hunters when he knew we were bringing bows (they are NOT bowhunters), bait stands contaminated by last weeks hunters, foul langauge and lack of bathrooms (only one for all 10 hunters and 4 guides) made the hunt unBEARable. I did mention these things to Gordon without being uncivil (I do not like to make trouble in camp and discourage other hunters), and he seemed to appreciate the input, hope he works on them. The weather was horrible the first two days, which is nothing you can do about, but when the weather did break seemed there was always an excuse. Only one 50 lb bear killed this week with a rifle, and only one the week before we got there. I have been to Maine 5 times through the years and have killed a 403 pounder with guides who no longer guide, so I was more concerned with my brother and my buddy on this hunt, this was thier first paid hunt. I think they may both be done, what a shame.
