I drew a tag for the 1st season archery and knew it was going to be a tough hunt before it started. Quarai Silva was my guide and there was not a day that he was positive and upbeat, regardless of the conditions. I was immediately impressed with the way this guy knew the country, he spends 200 days a year in the field and it showed. We were into elk everyday but due to the early season, the bug bulls were tough to find. Accommodations were more than what I expected. GT Nunn and his staff want nothing more than for me to be successful and even offered for me to stay an extra day if that's what it took. I will be applying to hunt with G.T in the future

I was hunting Sept 1 - 6. Temps were lows in the 50's and highs in the mid-80's. The monsoon season there was a little late so it frequently rained in the evening but passed quickly and seemed to help with animal movement
