New Plot Installation
We closed on this property Spring 2011. The land is 310 acres surrounded by a big farm to our north, a 1000 acres of young dense forest and mature forest to our West, and three properties to our South. A state road borders to our east.
The property is made up of semi-mature cherry and maple with Hemlock and Pine down in the swampy areas.
The best feature of this property is that it has thousands of mature apple trees. These were all producing fruit this year.
This is Field one, our largest field. It was well cared for and includes a shooting house built by the previous landowner. It is all grass now.
This will likely be our main food plot area. However, since it is close to the hub of human activity I think we'll plant brassicas and other winter plots here to start off with.
This was our favorite field. It is away from human activity, close to very thick areas, and next to a magnificent wild apple orchard.
This will be food plot 2. Not sure what we will plant here yet.
This little plot is Field 3, right on the edge of our land. It is very small, has some trees in it, and will require a bit of work to get it established. But it's right at the edge of a remote farm field that is hundreds of acres.
This is the part of the property we all fell in love with. It is a small 5 acre area of apple trees and immature spruce. It is loaded with deer trails and old scrapes and surrounded by trees suitable for stands.
